Best Short Film Award for Hannah & The Crocodile
A new award for our children’s documentary Hannah & The Crocodile 💜 This time we were winners at the El Meu Primer Festival in Barcelona and received the “Jury Best short film award”.
Thank you, Barcelona, for recognizing this documentary! And for letting Hannah & The Crocodile continue to travel the world.

Hannah & The Crocodile is a film by Lore Mechelaere, produced by Het Peloton Audiovisual Studio as part of Ket & Doc, with the support of the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF), in co-production with VRT Ketnet.
Hannah & The Crocodile is now available as a children’s book.
The story of Hannah & The Crocodile is getting a new chapter. Since August 2025, the book of the same name has been available in bookstores. It was written by Tine Lefebvre and is based on the award-winning animated children’s documentary by Lore Mechelaere and Het Peloton.
The book is suitable for readers aged 10 and up and was published by Pelckmans Publishers.
In addition, CaskAid purchased 500 copies to be distributed to all CLBs (Student Guidance Centers) in Flanders. In this way, the story reaches an even wider audience and contributes to raising awareness and providing support regarding eating disorders.
Het Peloton conquers Ketnet with Game Breakers
Meet Game Breakers, our new crazy entertaining game show for VRT Ketnet.
In Game Breakers, Ketnet wrapper Thomas takes on 8 well-known Ketnet heroes in his superdeluxe gamehall. But gaming is not enough… The players also get a crazy assignment in addition. Putting on a disco costume, eating spicy chips or painting yourself into a clown, … these are just some of the challenges that emerge from Walter’s brain. Hilarious and exciting at the same time, just right for the young Ketnet viewer.
Follow Game Breakers on KETNET Youtube or VRT MAX and get swept up in the cozy chaos and games.
Hannah & The Crocodile selected for the Clermont-Ferrand short film festival
Great news!!! The short film Hannah & The Crocodile has been selected for the Young Audience Shorts within the prestigious Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. This festival is the place where the crème de la crème of the (short) film world meets, and we are extremely proud that our production is part of it.
What makes this selection so special? The Young Audience Shorts program is an international platform for films for young people and children. That our film was picked up by the international jury shows once again that its story, its theme and its style resonate with children. And a must-see for them, even if only to make a difference and help eliminate eating disorders from the world.
At Het Peloton, we continue to look forward. This nomination motivates us even more to keep telling tough stories, together with our team and partners. On to new projects, new adventures and who knows, new festivals!
New documentary Aftocht launches with support from VAF
With support from the VAF , we at Het Peloton have been working for some time on Aftocht, a documentary that exposes the complex reality surrounding the UN mission in Congo. The blue helmets once came as protectors, but their presence now mainly raises questions. What happens to a population when hope gives way to disappointment?
We are particularly pleased that in addition to the Pascal Decroos Fund for Special Journalism, the VAF also believes in the project and is setting us on the path for developing the story.
With this documentary, we want to show the human side of an almost forgotten conflict and give a voice to those who feel abandoned. Stay tuned here for updates on Abandonment, more soon!
10th festival selection for Hannah & The Crocodile
What an adventure! Our children’s documentary Hannah & The Crocodile has now been nominated for more than 10 European film festivals. From Athens to Antwerp, everywhere this stop-motion animated film manages to touch the hearts of young and old.
While in Flanders, we can watch Hannah & The Crocodile on VRT MAX, the rest of the world has yet to discover the story. There are still many wonderful things on the horizon, and although we can’t reveal everything just yet, we feel incredibly grateful for the warm reception of our animated children’s documentary.
With these nominations and the many rave reviews, we as The Platoon remain driven to create stories that connect and inspire.
