SYNOPSIS

Documentary reveals Beni’s heartbreaking reality

Since October 2014, more than 1,000 civilians have been brutally murdered in and around Beni, North Kivu, Congo. Many others have been raped and kidnapped. Some 80,000 people have fled the villages and are seeking relative safety in the city of Beni. It is still unclear who is behind the attacks and why the population is being hunted.

Beni Files shows what is happening in Beni and the surrounding villages, right under the nose of the world’s most expensive UN peacekeeping mission.
